Our dear friend Fat Doctor has closed her blog after being “outed” by a co-worker. Good to know that at least her job is safe.

It’s disgusting.
Surely it’s against your constitution. Is it the second amendment that deals with freedom of the press? Sorry about my ignorance, my knowledge of the American Constitution is mainly gleaned from ‘Law & Order’.

Chairwoman, Our constitution only guarantees that the government won’t stifle free speech. One’s employer can impose rules and such. And from what FD said, it didn’t sound like her employer came down on her, but rather that he wouldn’t interfere.
That’s really sad. Whatever co-worker did that to fd should be ashamed of him/herself.
I never understand why people want to spoil other people’s fun.
I miss them already – I came to value FD, Flea, BB, NeoNurseChic and Neonatal Doc’s perspectives, enjoyed their choice of post subjects – many of which I never would have found on my own, and miss their distinct blog personalities. It’s a real loss, and I hope there is a way to rectify the state of healthcare blogging.

It’s so easy to forget a part of one’s readers – I have to watch myself carefully. I think that something would be hysterical for my expat readers without realizing that non-expats wouldn’t be amused, or it will be funny to friends but hurtful to family. I’ve come very close but not crossed the line yet….I think…
I just posted about this on my blog that I went to read FD’s blog today and it was only open to invited readers. There is no way for me to ask to be an invited reader. I am so sad as I checked her blog every day and enjoyed it so much.
I didn’t get to see the story of the coworker outing her, but shame on that coworker. Why do people have to ruin things.
