Cool. Maybe we’ll have another Asti’s…
For those who don’t know – Asti’s was an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village where all the waiters were singing opera; the chef – I think he was also the owner – would demonstrate how to do pizza (kind of) while singing Figaro, the audience would join in; occasionally someone from the audience, sometimes a young star from NY city opera would stand up and sing. It was very popular the 80s, apparently also in the 60s and the 70s, but closed years ago. Only an OK food, but great atmosphere and entertainment. Would be cool to have something like it again.
