I don’t know about the rest of you medical bloggers, but I’ve been getting emails from folks who run a website called “DrugWatch.com”, asking for reciprocal links and promoting themselves as the go-to place for patients to get up to date info on medication safety.
Tucked into the website is this promise – “We will never accept advertising from the pharmaceutical industry”.
Right. Because the whole site is a front for a bunch of Orlando lawyers trying to sniff out potential clients for medication-related lawsuits against the pharmaceutical industry.
DrugWatch.com is sponsored by The Peterson Firm, LLC, which is licensed by The Florida Bar to practice law in the state of Florida. The Peterson Firm, LLC’s main office is located at 2317 North Wickham Road in Melbourne, Florida, 32935. If you indicate to your Patient Advocate your desire to speak with an attorney about your legal rights, he or she may recommend various law firms and recommendations may include law firms from around the country including The Peterson Firm, LLC. If you decide to retain The Peterson Firm, LLC for the handling of your legal claims, The Peterson Firm, LLC may utilize experienced co-counsel (at no additional cost) to assist in the prosecution of your claims. If a Patient Advocate-recommended law firm is retained, The Peterson Firm, LLC may co-counsel and assist with the prosecution of the claim at no additional cost to the client. The Peterson Firm, LLC handles cases on a contingency fee basis, and there are no costs or fees charged to the client unless a recovery is made.
Big Pharma has their disease awareness websites. Now the lawyers have their drug side effects awareneness websites.
And the game goes on….
I like this post… LOL

Congratulations on Blog of Note! You write well 🙂
Thanks for the tip. You just never know anymore who is who and the internet brings that to an entire new level. Glad to know about DrugWatch.
Very typical of lawyers. They are hurting now in this economy and will of course stoop to new lows
Just when you think they can't go any lower…..
Congratulation.
just say congrulation on blog of note! great blog
damn ambo chasin sharks
OK so I'm one of those who arrived here thanks to the Blog of Note notice. I've just been through all your latest post: What a great read!
Interesting what you write about the need to sedate yourself with food… is there any way you could reduce your workload, and therefore the stress? Would the easiest way of doing this be reducing the number of patients you take? Your Tag Team Casserole story with its perfect timing, while REMARKABLE (and yes it looks absolutely YUMMY), shows a frightening amount of control. That you and your family manage to deal with that sort of pressure on a daily basis is stunning.
My partner was a workaholic, he used to work 12-14 hours a day, 6 days a week (that was before I met him). Now at the age of 53 he's learned to slow down and enjoy life. He has slowly gone down to 5 days a week and now 4 days a week. He works MON-THU and the rest is for learning to play the guitar and enjoying life with his new partner, me.
OK, this must be a very un-NYC thing to do. It seems to me that the religion in NYC is WORK. But perhaps that's where thinking outside the square would help?
Anyway, I'm bookmarking your blog, I'll be back. This is too good a read to let go of. Good luck with your many projects, you are a very talented person.
in big cities, this is all common occurance, people live and keep on living and working not realizing that they are humans who need to take a break, you write well highlighting the humans of this world!!
Wow, one of the best read posts so far.

Queni, Nathalie, Jonathan – Thanks!
Jennifer – That’s the best you can do? Looks like you have a real blog with real opinions. Why not join the conversation?
Tim – I made it myself – glad you like it. You can use it if you want – I just patched together some clip art from Microsoft clip art.
Annah – Thanks! Like your blog – fun! Love the cartoons. And the This Time fro Afrika video.
Toni – I swear, you have to be a detective just to surf the web these days…☺
Myfabulousgaylife- I don’t think it’s necessarily the economy – there are always folks who want more money, no matter how much they may have. And unethical meketers ready to work with them…Sad, really, how the word works sometimes….
Anon – the worst is the poor patient caught in between the stealth marketing campaigns. We’ve all got to get informed!
As for the rest of the commenters above, not sure who are real and who are just spamming, so will let it go now…
Anonymous @ hotmail – Not sure how I got onto blogs of note, but starting with a real blog as opposed to an ad blog probably helps…Looks like you are trying to make $ on the internet, and for that you’ve come to the wrong person for advice.
zxThaiTrixz- Sure! The more the merrier.
Hark – thanks!
Nathalie –
You may indeed have a point, although in my case, boredom is also a trigger for eating, so no matter what, i am screwed! Actually, mr TBTAM has summers off and being a teacher, a fair amount of holiday, so he tends to be the calm one around here. Also, he's the thin one!
I'd love to work less – but with two kids to put through college, I don't see a way to do so just yet. But now that the kids are older, I definitely find I have the time to exercise and take better care of myself.
And though what we did that night tag teaming it sounds stressful, it was actually quite fun!
Thanks again for your very thoughtful comment.
Come again soon!
you're genius dude .. i love it ..
Speaking of false pretenses, you are getting spammed to death on this blog.
Ron –
Just on this post – I got named a blogger blog of note that week, and everyone and their mother decided to comment to get a link.
🙂
