Peggy, I agree that lead-time bias is a concept worth knowing. But selective representation and interpretation of data to bolster a popular viewpoint, is, also, unfortunately real. The paper is rife with assumptions and oversimplifications, among other flaws.

I hope you expand on that thought – ie, what oversimplifications and assumptions? Perhaps you have a blog post on the topic in progress?
If women are to be informed, all viewpoints need to be out there.
