My Latest Addiction – Gertie’s Artichoke Tapenade

No, it’s not drugs or alcohol. It’s Gertie’s Artichoke Tapanade, and I got mine at Costco.

This stuff is incredible – a simple mix of artichokes, olive and safflower oil, green olives, key lime, vinegar, salt and spices. 29 calories for 2 tbsp, 2.5 grams fat (no trans fats) and 0.3 gm fiber per serving.(That’s 1 point for you WW fans)

Makes a great party appetizer served with baked pita triangles or crackers, but I’m trying to figure out how else to use it – maybe on pasta?

Here’s a recipe that sounds similar…

  1. I also love Gertie’s artichoke tapenade……I mean LOVE it. I bought it at Costco and then they quit carrying it and I haven’t found it anywhere else! Distressing!

  2. Look for it at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, if there’s one near you. That’s where I got mine. I haven’t actually tried it yet, but I’m wondering, is it better heated than cold?

    • I got ours at Grocery Outlet too. Tonight I’m putting it on nan bread with homemade basil pesto–yum! I think it would be good warmed up on pizza too, but haven’t tried that yet.

  3. I make a really quick soup with it. 1 jar Gerties, cream cheese, grated parm, milk-or yogurt soy/almond milk, a bit more garlic, chicken or veg stock. I top mine off with grilled or pan fried artichock quraters. you can use variations of each ingredient and it is delicious and fast.

  4. I’m trying to buy that above product but it does not seen available in 2016. It is NOT available at Cosco where I bought it a ver years ago. Where can I buy is on line or in Westchester, Ny in 2016

  5. PLEASE someone find where I can buy this stuff. My sister would send us some from Costco but they are not carrying it anymore. My family LOVES it. I mix it with pasta & it is delicious. We’ve tried other tapenade but “Gertie’s” is the best.
